Welcome to SUSTAINET – A European Initiative for Green Local Governance
SUSTAINET (Empowering Local Governance for Sustainable Economic Growth through a network of Green Business Innovation Hubs) is a funded Erasmus+ project under the KA220-VET action line. Spanning from December 2024 to November 2026, the project is committed to transforming local governance and SME engagement through sustainable innovation and circular economy strategies.
Explore Objectives
In a time of escalating climate challenges and socio-economic transitions, municipalities and small businesses play a pivotal role in shaping resilient, green economies. SUSTAINET brings together academic excellence, technological innovation, and public-private collaboration to create localized solutions that align with the European Green Deal, the Circular Economy Action Plan, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The project envisions the creation and operationalization of Green Business Innovation Centres (GBICs)—collaborative hubs that will support local authorities and SMEs in their green transition journeys. Through robust training, strategic tools, and transnational cooperation, SUSTAINET fosters inclusive growth, environmental stewardship, and sustainable economic practices.
